OVERVIEW & PURPOSE

Welcome to our Spring/Summer 2023& 2024 youth season for University of Buckets. Our program offers a true old school approach to team dynamics and player development focusing on the following five main principles to help your player develop to the best of his/her ability: 1. Basketball IQ: Learning the game and teaching others what you know! We have learned that teaching others helps a child find their voice and see things from a different perspective to help them use the tools better. 2. We teach that quality of play is more important than quantity. Every child had the opportunity to play in every game at different levels to keep them pushing themselves. We give kids the opportunity to shine at every level possible! 3. Development: Quality Assurance of development is unlike most; we have semi pro teams that work out with the 15-17U kids. We are preparing a situation for our teams to play at a high level out of town. 4. Social Media & NIL Training: Believe it or not, social media is the cornerstone to our success! Unlike most programs we have the options for filming, editing and posting to 3rd party platforms. With that said, each player will be taught how to get their Name, Image and Likeness on all social media to create their own buzz! 5. Homework: Players will be required to hold themselves accountable for their daily routine workouts (homework training will be sent via text. Workouts starts before we practice/train, i.e., NOW! We look forward to helping your child start a new outlook on their basketball career today! Use the link below to sign-up your son/daughter for a new daily training program https://invi.tt/M0PQ 1.

OBJECTIVES

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to work with your son/daughter and develop their basketball and most important life skills. This will be a very different situation for all parties involved in the sense of how much we work and how we work. This program will be about building a players foundation and helping them create a “PRO BAG”. Our goal is to prepare them to play at the next level and the first part of that is physical strength and stamina. We want to teach kids the amount of time, effort, and energy needed to be a part of this game.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE

We have a very different approach to practice/training. Summer training, all teams will train between 9am-1pm Monday through Thursday. Friday (if we don’t play in a tournament) is round ball in house scrimmage day or a scrimmage against one of the local programs.

Currently we train 5-7am Monday through Friday at the Ymca in Sammamish.

 TOURNAMENTS

We will be providing a tentative tournament schedule at the time of team selection and schedules will be finalized after team formations (we will discuss separately with each team, as well as, intermingle teams to get the most games played as possible).

We reserve the right to substitute tournaments depending on factors beyond our control. We are hoping that the schedule changes because we were invited to other opportunities!

SEASON COST

The season cost is $2500 which includes gym rentals, coaches and administrative fees, tournament fees and coach travel expenses. We will coordinate as a group for each trip out of town but unfortunately each family is required to take care of their own travel and accommodation arrangements.

We will be accepting monthly payments of $500 for the season on a recurring card pull if needed!

We are brand new and have limited scholarship options.

MISCELLANEOUS

Uniform: We will be providing uniform information shortly after team selection in a separate email!

AAU numbers: Each player is required to have an up-to-date AAU membership. AAU memberships are renewed annually and run from September 1 to August 31 of the following year. Our club AAU code is pending. If your player does not have an AAU card, please register him at http://www.aausports.org/

Once you register and have your AAU number, please email that information to coach Ferg at uofbuckets@gmail.com
